Anxiety
What it looks like
People call about a racing heart with no clear cause, waking at three in the morning, and tightness before work that does not go away on days off.
- Worry that runs most of the day and is hard to interrupt
- Panic that peaks within minutes and leaves you drained afterward
- Avoiding drives, places, or conversations to keep it from starting
- Physical symptoms that come with it: chest tightness, nausea, shaking hands
You do not need to have any of this sorted out before you call. That is what the intake call and the first visit are for.
Care at Chattanooga
Care for anxiety here is individual counseling, plus psychiatric medication management when it is clinically appropriate. Both are outpatient.
If medication becomes part of your plan, it is prescribed and managed by our licensed providers across your regular visits, and you take it at home in between. What gets prescribed is a decision your provider makes with you at the visit, based on what you are dealing with and what you have already tried.
